Solo Duet

Here’s something different just to mix things up a bit. My 18-200 mm lens + D200 couldn’t handle this kind of shot so I borrowed my roommate’s Canon XTI *gasp* + 50 mm f/1.4 lens and was thrilled with the result. I will be buying a Nikon 50 mm f/1.8 lens tomorrow for my D200. This Canon business is unacceptable

You’ll love the 50mm 1.8, to be sure. I just bought one a couple of weeks ago. I use it to shoot basketball. I hope that you washed your hands very well after you touched that Canon stuff!

After doing a bit of reading I’m now looking into the 1.4… it’s very tempting, though 3 times the cost of the 1.8 which will be hard to justify.

I think the Canon will take a while to wash out… until I get my new Nikon lens that is.

I think you should really get the 1.4…if it’s anything like how the canon 1.8 compares with the canon 1.4, it will be well worth the extra money.

The 1.8 actually has an edge over the 1.4 in image sharpness and it’s $200 cheaper, so for now it will be the 1.8. Jerry, that means you get to keep your Canon
